Share with us how you understand yourself.
Person and Spirit of Creative openness and love.
Tell us about how your self-expression has helped you grow.
It has allowed me to explore and express my soul's sides.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up mostly in Utah, coming out in Logan. Then, I grew out more in Salt Lake, and I moved to Seattle in 1997 as a personal goal to be free and feel acceptance for who I wanted to be.
What is a life goal that you are working on or have achieved?
My goal was to leave Utah by the time I was 30. I did that in 97. Everything else has been frosting on the cake. I was so much happier when I found that the [Mormon] Church was not the only way to God. It was a way. I can have a relationship with God and be a much closer Christian by being true to myself.
Who is someone who inspired you to be your true self?
Pound Cake, my Drag Mother, was one of the first people to reach out to me when I first came out in 91. They approached me with open arms and a shoulder to cry on. They helped me find Sylvia and created the work ethic that still drives me today.
What's something that you worry about?
Can I keep up this pace I have created for myself? How can I work smarter, pace myself, and keep my high standards going?
What gives you hope?
Helping people find joy in Love and acceptance while sharing my art and bringing joy to the masses.
If you had a message for your younger self, what would you say?
You will be fine. You are loved and there are several lovers you will meet along the way. Always make time for yourself. Don't try to fix anyone. If they are not meant for you let them go it will be so much better. Yes You can make it on your own.
What's a piece of wisdom you've learned that has helped you?
Always be kind and nice to people. Treat them professionally, and you will go a long way.
What is something you wish other people understood?
Be the Joy.
